Worship through Respect
Week #37
Respect is something we all desire, all deserve, but seldom feel we get. Teens often show little respect for the older generation. Likewise the older generation out of a lack of understanding show little respect for you. Each generation is different. There are different priorities, culture, style, and many other things that spate us.
Paul says in 1 Tim, 5:1-2 “Never speak harshly to an older man,[a] but appeal to him respectfully as you would to your own father. Talk to younger men as you would to your own brothers. 2 Treat older women as you would your mother, and treat younger women with all purity as you would your own sisters.” NLT
Youth are to show respect for the older generation even if you do not know them or they do not deserve it. I have been saved for many years longer than some who are much older than me. But Gods way is best. They may show me respect because of my position or spiritual maturity. I show them respect because of their station in life or wisdom. In obedience we honor the Lord. Anything we do to honor the Lord is an act of worship. God wants us to have mutual respect for each other.
